June 27, 2021

Another week of reflecting on relationships with our Indigeneous neighbours and another week of learning.

In church today, Tricia talked about the two apologies made by the United Church of Canada. It can be hard to reconcile the past with our current beliefs. But this happened and now we can, and must, do better to heal on the road to reconcilliation.

I was thinking about camping today, and being removed from our regular, comfortable life. It is not the same but it gives us something to think about. One part that I remember enjoying as a child on camping trips was making bannock over the fire. Now, you don't have to make your own on a campfire, but I found a simple recipe that you could use. Click here for the recipe.

I went to a family camp that was once a United Church camp in Manitoba. I felt like it brought us closer as a family because we were removed from the usual every day. I would never change those moments I had with family and it makes me think of those moments that kids never had and lost.

I hope you can enjoy the bannock as a family and make some good memories.

Peace and love,

Michelle
