Welcome back to church! I know that children and youth are in a difficult situation and we are not able to be together in person right now.

I hope that you were able to listen to the blessing of the tags. We are all feeling so many emotions about trying to find what this world is going to be and it can be very scary. Let yourself feel those feelings. They are valid and important. We are all scared too. Just remember that we are not alone.

Those words are repeated multiple times in the new creed of the United Church (I giggle when we call it the new creed since it is about 50 years old now). We are not alone. It is important to remember that somedays. We all can feel alone. It has been extremely difficult lately to feel a part of the community when are not able to be together in the same room. What I like most about that sentiment is it is about "we" not just "me" or "I". We are not alone. Everyone can, and probably is, feeling alone.

Hopefully these small tags, which can be attached to anything really (backpacks, bags, purses, wallets, keychains, etc.) will remind you that you are loved, be kind to those around you, and be who you are. It can also be a sign that we are not alone because we are with you and God is with you. I took a picture of my tag which I have now attached to my purse. I will think of each of you as I go aobut my day as well.
