God's love is called Agape love. It is not similar to the different types of love. It is the unconditional love of God. It reaches out to everyone in the world because it is universal love. Greeks thought God's love is the only kind of love that doesn't fail or falter. The word Agape arise from the Ancient greeks and refers to the love of God for all mankind. Agape is widely considered and examined by all religions. Everyone has Agape unconditional love.
We in the United Church celebrate PIE day. Not pie as in food, not pi as in the ratio of a circle's circumference to it's diameter or 3.14159....PIE = Public. Intentional. Explicit. These are the standards we hold ourselves and our welcome to when we become affirming, welcoming, or inclusive communities. March 14 is a chance to serve some pie and roll out the PIE by celebrating the full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ and Two Spirit people in faith communities and beyond across Canada.
God's love is unconditional. It protects us and shelters us. It does not discriminate, it does not pick and choose who is loved. EVERYONE is loved.
I hope you all know that you are protected. I hope you all know you are loved. I hope you all feel safe.
Here is a page for you to fill out about feeling safe. How are you safe? Draw or write to show you are safe and loved and protected.
Peace and love,
Michelle
