Love others as I have loved you. Or treat others as you want to be treated. It's the "golden rule." We have all heard it in some way. And now we need to try to live into it.
Today we heard from Lulu's Lodge and I think that this is an example of living into this "golden rule." We want to feel loved, we want to feel safe and we want to be respected for who we are. This place in Regina gives people a space to be who they are and to feel safe.
They are treated as people and given opportunities denied to them because of situation. Everyone deserves that.
This is part of our mission as an Affirming Ministry. We welcome everyone and we need to support them as well, in whatever ways they need.
Love is wonderful but it can be hard. Love is a four letter word that has so much power. Show that love is good and that everyone deserves to be loved for who they are.
Be that love, show that love, share that love.
Peace and love,
Michelle
