It has been an odd few weeks for me but I am finally getting back into the swing of things. Which is good because we just had a birthday! Well, the church did. Not just Sunset but the whole Christian church: Pentecost!

And I do not know what you did to celebrate, but we were lucky to have cake at church. It was also Gary's, one of our charter members, 85th birthday! Another cause for celebration.

What I wanted to illustrate is a fire. We have all seen some kind of fire, even if it is just a candle flame. Let's think about a flame. It's tiny all by itself but when you have more flames, maybe 85 or so, it becomes huge. We are each just like that one tiny flame. We are all blessed by the Spirit. We have the teachings of love inside but when we join together, that small flame becomes an inferno.

So when you are feeling alone or scared, just think about that little flame inside or light a candle to see it. And then remember that your little flame joins with everyone else to create a something even bigger.
