
Murder Mystery Fundraiser
The Sunset Youth Group is hosting a Murder Myster night for youth (10 yrs+) and adults to raise money to purchase a Christmas Hamper this year.
Once Upon a Murder
Saturday, November 1
6-9 p.m.

Tickets: $10
Tickets will be available after church on October 19 and October 26. You can also contact Michelle or a youth group member to purchase tickets. Last date to purchase tickets is October 26.
If you attend...
After purchasing your ticket, you will be e-mailed your 'role' for the evening, along with costume suggestions. On the night of the murder mystery, come in costume as you will become a suspect in the evening's "murder". Clues will be presented throughout the evening to allow you to solve the mystery so that there will be a happily ever after!

Rainbow Youth Centre Volunteers

K-Cups & Kids Group
Are you parents of young children who are looking for a way to connect with other young parents and their families?
Come out to our K-Cups and Kids Group on Saturday, October 18 at 6:30 p.m. for some wonderful conversation with our young families nd a chance to get to know more about each other.
It's a wonderful way for everyone in our church to show support for all members of our church community.
Trivia Night
Looking for a fun and creative evening in November?
Join the Trivia Night on Saturday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. with a team of up to 10 people or come on your own and we will find you a team!
The cost is $10.00 per person (coffee, tea, juice provided and bring an appetizer to share). Sign up your team at the church.
Membership Conversations
Kathy Platt invites those who are considering membership at Sunset United Church to join her over the next four weeks and attend membership conversations.
Kathy will explain the history of the United Church of Canada, as well as our current structure and how it is evolving. The conversation will also explore the theological understandings around the Bible, God, Jesus, the church and the diverse ways we live out our spiritual lives.
The first of four conversations will be held on Wednesday, September 17 at 7 p.m. at Sunset United. At that meeting, the group will pick the other dates that will work best for all attending.

Legacy Information Meeting
On Monday evening, October 6, the Finance Committee will be hosting an information meeting to explain how we can support Sunset United through legacy giving, such as wills, charitable gift annuities, securities, etc.
This evening is for information only; there will be NO pressure put upon anyone and no 'sales pitch' given. It will be an opportunity for conversation about:
- estate planning and legacy giving
- Sunset United's Memorial Fund
- Sunset's stewardship practices
Our speaker for the evening will be Kathryn Hofley, Financial Development Officer for the United Church's Prairie Region.

Children's Clothing & Toy Consignment Sale
Sunset United Church is again having thier Fall Children's Clothing and Toy Consignment Sale fundraiser.

Sunset Ladies Fellowship
The next regular meeting of the Sunset Ladies Fellowship will be on Monday, September 8 at 1:30 p.m. Details on the guest speaker will follow.
All the ladies of the congregation are welcome to attend.
Summer Strolls with Kathy
Kathy continues her summer strolls in the Sunset neighbourhood of Friday mornings in August.
Come and stroll with Kathy Platt starting at 10 a.m. for about 30-45 minutes and then enjoy a cup of coffee at the church.
Food Drive
Volunteering for the Regina Food Bank
On Saturday, April 12th the Youth Group will be volunteering at the Regina Food Bank. In preparation, Sunset is having a food drive at our church up until that day. There is a container at the back of the church each Sunday for donations. During the week when the church is open, you can drop of your donations at Michelle's office (Love) during the week or the back corner of the church on Sundays.
The Food Bank accepts all donations, but here is a list of their top 10 most wanted items:
- canned stews
- one litre juices
- powdered milk
- pork and beans
- peanut butter
- canned meat and fish
- pasta products
- soup
- baby food
- Enfalac & Similac
